The Hunt for 4822 Karge
I'm about 90% certain we imaged 4822 Karge back on July 25th using the Bradford Robotic Telescope on Tenerife island. I'm working on getting some confirmation.
Hi, I just learned that an asteroid was named after Mr. Karge. He was my physics teacher back in 1969, a very good year. If you're interested, I have stories to share... Charlie Wallace charliewallace@iname.com
4822 Karge is magnitude 17.7 and getting fainter. We have some new images to process.
ReplyDeleteWe'll use the moonless period in August for another attempt.

If you have Google Earth installed, go into Sky mode and enter these
ReplyDeletecoordinates: 17 14 37.88 -18 38 28.9
Compare the star field on Google Earth with the image I obtained.
4822 Karge is probably between the two red marks.
