Launch at Clark Well

3 comments:

  1. A few of the rockets launched by the SDRAC were not of the standard Centauri and Estes kit issue. The launch shown here is a case in point, where the envelope of flight stability was definitely tested. I will endeavor, in future months, to obtain documents from the deep archives of the SDRAC and personal testimony of those designers whose missiles, albiet inadvertantly, "aimed for the cars".

  2. Is this the same Clark lake bed with the square concrete structures? We were there in 69 or 70 with Mr Karge, shooting off rockets powered by zinc and sulphur. I believe ours was the first trip out there. I might be able to dig up pictures...

  3. This photo was taken north-east of Clark Lake where there are
concrete artillery targets from World War 2. It would be awesome to
see documentation of the zinc and sulpher rocket program you were involved with.
